This small sack appears empty, though strangely heavy. Anyone reaching in as a single action can remove a small fuzzy ball. When this ball is tossed it turns into an animal which serves the person who removed it for up to 10 minutes, until slain, or until ordered back into the bag, at which point it disappears. It follows all commands on a successful DC 15 Nature check. Each of the three kinds of bags of tricks produces a different set of animals.

The heavy horse appears with harness and tack and accepts the person who drew it from the bag as a rider. Animals produced are always random and only one may exist at a time. Up to 10 animals can be drawn from the bag each week but no more than two per 24 hours. Unless otherwise listed, a bag of tricks is an uncommon item.


  • Lesser (300 silvers). It has an equal chance of producing a bat, cat, rat, riding dog, or weasel.
  • Basic (1,500 silvers). It has an equal chance of producing a boar, leopard, wolf, or wolverine.
  • Greater (3,500 silvers). It has an equal chance of producing a grizzly bear, heavy horse, lion, rhinoceros, or tiger. This item is rare.

Crafting Requirements: You must supply the appropriate casting of Summon Nature’s Ally. A lesser bag of tricks needs a 2nd level, a basic bag of tricks needs a 3rd level, and a greater bag of tricks needs a 4th level.
