Black shadows curl out from your fingertips and race through the air, taking the form of ephemeral vines spiked with thorns. You deal a number of d8s negative damage equal to half your Proficiency Score and Persistent Damage equal to your Proficiency Score to living creatures in the line depending on their Fortitude saves. On a successful save the target takes half damage and no Persistent Damage, on a failure the target takes full damage, and on a critical failure the target takes double damage.
