History

Intelligence

History represents one’s ability to recall and understand events of the past for the purpose of application to a present situation as well as understanding the connection from the past to the present for influencing future events.

Recall Knowledge

  • Single Action
  • Proficient Only: No

You can use History to remember information about historical events, figures, and occurrences. This can be useful for understanding past political and legal implications as well as social patterns. Common knowledge or broad themes, like the knowledge of a recent war, is often a DC 10 or does not require a check while more detailed or older history is a DC 15. Recalling precise and more extensive details increases the DC to 20. Very obscure history is often a DC 25 or 30, and secret histories might not even allow a success without the necessary research or resources. If you are not as familiar with the history being recalled, the DC can increase anywhere from 5 to 15 points while familiarity can similarly decrease the DC. Resources, such as books or experts on a subject, can reduce the DC as low as 10.
